Staff will prepare a project charter and options for a minor Land Use Bylaw Review Project, following a South Pender Local Trust Committee vote on Sept. 1. The committee also identified the minor LUB review as its minor active project.[1]
The minutes record that the committee requested the charter and options after discussion of how staff could review Bylaw 122 and identify amendments that might be minor or more contentious. The motion carried.[1]
During town hall, speakers expressed differing views about reviewing Bylaw 122. One speaker said the changes improved protection of the sensitive cliff ecosystem and urged the committee to leave them in place; another called for a review with community input.[1]
The committee also voted to add reconciliation and First Nations relationship-building as a standing item on future agendas, and asked the chair to bring support for that practice to the Executive Committee.[1]
